The 2014 Billboard Music Awards took place at the MGM Grand on Sunday, May 18. It was all about the sexy fashion, just like any other music awards show. It appears that several stars were showing more skin than usual. Most of them stepped out in cutouts, the hottest trend for spring/summer 2014.
Nicki Minaj has been choosing simpler looks over her over-the-top ensembles. But that doesn’t mean she’s going all the way conservative. She stepped out in a black Alexander McQueen gown that showed off her cleavage and midriff.
Kendall Jenner wore a white halter-top that flashed some major side boob. She paired her top with her black sequin “party pants.”
Miranda Lambert even showed a little skin at the awards show. She wore a hot pink dress with a mesh panel that showed off her a little of her cleavage. “Dancing the Stars” contestant Dania McKeller showed off her stomach and collarbone area in a coral cutout dress.
This sexy trend is easy to wear. You don’t have to show off a lot of skin. There are a few different ways that you can wear cutouts. Show off a little skin with a cold-shoulder shirt, a laser cut flared skirt or cutout shoes.
Wear cutout dresses in bright and bold colors. It’s a sexy, but modest way to show off a little skin in the summer. You can also pair a cute cutout top with a pair of jeans or shorts. The little pop of skin will give you just enough sexiness. It’s so feminine and girly that you won’t feel like you’re showing a lot of skin.
Back cutouts are becoming a huge trend for the spring and summer season. You can wear a fitted dress with sexy back cutouts or a t-shirt with strips going across the back. Both styles will give you that added sexiness while concealing your bra perfectly.
You can also wear a floral dress with a subtle peek-a-boo or cutout. Pair it with a denim jacket and allow the floral print become the focus of your outfit, not your skin!
As you can see, there are many ways to rock the cutouts trend this season. You don’t have to go all the way and dare to bare like the stars at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. You can find a way to make the trend work for your style and wardrobe.
