Detroit Lions Drafting Da’Quan Bowers?

The Detroit Lions have taken a much closer look at DE Da’Quan Bowers and there are rumors that they would take him at #13 in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Clemson’s Bowers was widely considered a top pick in the 2011 NFL draft during the last college football season but his stock has been slipping — so far that he might be out of the top 10. One of the main reasons was a knee injury that may require micro fracture surgery. Its the same knee Bowers had surgery on last January to repair a torn meniscus.

So should the Lions, who are already feeling the affects of one of their stars dealing with injury (Matthew Stafford), take an injury risk like Bowers? It all depends what happens on draft day.  If none of the players they covet fall to them, they almost have to. The upside potential is huge and Bowers could be the steal of the draft.

Tom Kowalski, from Mlive.com thinks the Lions need to steer clear and far away from Bowers.

thanks for adding that last about what Kowalski “thinks”.

Seriously, was Kowalski Millen’s go-to-guy every draft? His advice about Bowers tells me the kid is going to be a steal.

I agree with Kliph: I think this kid is a steal and I don’t have any respect for what Kowalski has to say about MY Lions.
